FAQs
-
An agency fee can cost upwards of $35,000+ and that just covers the agency fee. Purchasing the guide is essentially like the agency fee and agency expertise. It includes the information you would acquire from an agency but at a fraction of the cost.
-
Of course! The guide is focused on the information needed to run a surrogacy journey, regardless of journey type; only a few pages will not be applicable. Having this in hand with your agency could keep things on track and provide you with the knowledge to ask informative questions and understand the process before even getting there. Just keep in mind, all agencies work differently, you chose that agency because you felt they were the right fit for you. So, remember some information within the guide may differ from how they operate. Follow their expertise, that’s why you are working with them.
-
The straightforward answer—it’s not easy. There are always going to be unexpected costs, so including a cushion in your overall budget is necessary for budget planning purposes. The guide goes in depth with how to budget, what to budget for and even an overview of some unexpected costs to look out for.
-
If you have purchased the guide and are having trouble finding the experts you will need for your journey, feel free to reach out and ask for direct referrals. All journeys regardless of agency, independent or Andi need to have their team of experts to be sure the journey runs smoothly, and the desired outcome is achieved. Remember an Andi or Indy journey is not about cutting corners, but about cutting costs.

We have you covered! If you have purchased the guide and would just like to connect a few times throughout the journey, we can do that. We know even with the most detailed guide there are always going to be additional questions or specific guidance needed. We are here to help!

This one is tricky, and the answer is yes and no. It is important to note that each guide is written specifically for the appropriate party. Meaning, some information will not be in the other and vice versa. It could work if you are willing to do more leg work and If you are the type of person that can let go and allow the other party to tell you when, where, how and why then by all means, more power to you. But if you both want to take an active role (which is needed for an Andi or Indy journey) than it’s best to each have your dedicated Guide.
-
Each guide is written for the specific party. Naturally, IP(s) will have more to think about and prepare before starting their surrogacy journey (and after the birth). While the surrogate guide touches on a few of these points, it will not provide the detailed step-by-step process for IP reference.
-
We get asked this question all the time and quite frankly, we just want to EMPOWER you! We know the reason most start their Indy journey is to save on costs not cut corners. But sometimes not having the right guidance can unintentionally cut those corners just a little to close. The Guide is the best of both worlds. Cost savings all while helping navigate the journey independently but full of knowledge.
-
Absolutely! The other half does not necessarily need theirs. But just remember, without it when the journey is over you won’t have one as a keepsake. You will be gifting the one you have been completing to the other party, so be sure you are comfortable with not having the personalized journal to look back on.

Also known as private surrogacy, an independent surrogacy journey does not include the guidance from a surrogacy agency. Giving you, the IP (and the surrogate) the responsibility of journey management.
-
An agency surrogacy is just that, a journey done through an agency, who provides expert knowledge and support throughout the entire process. You are usually provided a team of support.
-
Imagine if an agency-run journey and an independent journey had a baby, its name would be “Andi,” It’s the perfect mix of do it yourself (using the Guide) along with help on an as needed basis only (SP consulting). You control it all even when and if you need the extra help.
-
A gestational surrogate becomes pregnant via IVF. An embryo is fertilized in a lab and then implanted into her uterus. She will not be genetically related.
-
A traditional surrogate has a genetic relationship to the child. This is because she becomes pregnant via IUI, which means she is impregnated with the sperm of the intended father or a sperm donor which fertilizes her own egg.
